#490
Moments before
we rocketed into the heavens
they played
"In an Aeroplane over the Sea”
god, it’s funny how
i have the nerve to think
that playing one of my
favourite songs was a
gift just for me.
Of course not,
c’est le vie,
either way i’m taking it
above the clouds with me.

Soaring above,
sailing under,
those lightning storms,
screaming, fists swinging,
rain pounding against
the top of our roof,
all less electric
than your look,
eyes just inches
from my face
moments before
you stole that kiss.

Just so many pour choices
in the last hour,
guzzling sugar,
guarana, a nostalgic favourite
folds me forward,
churros, eating shit,
blowing money blindly,
my hip aches
my foots soaked
my sneakers will stink
i’m getting too old for this.
But hey, i saw some cool
churches, and who knows
maybe someday i’ll learn.
We can only pray.

Then again,
as the landing gear drops
a rare Demsey cover,
on the other side of the world
get out of my headphones.

My ears sit ringing
from the messages enclosed
synchronicity unfolds, unfolds, unfolds again
its another comfort,
all the soft shocks,
songs, signs, surprise talks,
can’t imagine whats next
who would’ve thought,
who would’ve thought?
