Standing on ceilings
enjoying roof top views
of stars, bridges, parks,
monuments, chapels, antennas,
oceans, mountains, headlights,
streetlights, apartment glows,
sweet San Francisco below
our feet, still the best view,
is you.

Did you see that too?
Sitting in the airport,
the little boy free
swimming in play is
travelling further,
than the rest of us.
Adventuring through cosmos
pioneering through time
climbing through new worlds
tumbling unto new friendships
blessed with his imagination
as his passport.

i take it black,
when i poison myself with coffee.
it just feels great to be awake
hours to wait, chase light, watch creation
hours to wait, time to dream
opened wide eyed, reading reflections
wading through the stream
it tastes so bitter, biting, sharp,
darkness in water,
a great place to start the day.

Nodding yes,
hell yes,
i think so too.

We began speaking of the weather
she sighed in the spaces
lied how she couldn’t be better
that look in her glassy eyes
haunting debates wondering whether
i’d love to lift that heavy lever
hold her close wear me as a soft sweater
she still closes her eyes,
looking for different horizons that may fair,
remember sandcastles, snowballs, building mud pies.
her blinks linger longer,
while she sings soft complaints of grey weather,
still eating what she thinks they think,
won’t the clouds clear from her eyes,
let her clearly see what we clearly see
sunshine behind her weather.
