Lie to me tonight
lay with me
whisper pretend
love letters, sealed wax
kisses and cling to
me like this moment
is forever, like tonight
is eternity. Lets sign
to the stars and hide
from daylight’s hard truths.
For in these moments
we’re no longer strangers
and they won’t be able
to separate us
from the pages of
great romances, and
lost love letters.

Despite how much i think i know
i’m still always learning.
By now, you’d think i’d know
the words to describe how
frustrating and demoralizing
the realization is but, alas,
i don’t and can’t.
i can however try, try to learn
try to grow. i can take ownership
of my ignorance, and faults,
and push on, recalibrate,
and sail forth to another sun rise,
to another day.

True madness
in the streets
from those too free,
we clutch, and strut,
you keep your eyes low
while you can.
Their hands out
for your hands up,
real life heat
sitting around the table
at the foot of the heart
and the Cape of Good Hope.

The problem, with patience
is that it takes
way too damn long.
Was that a haiku?
#274
i won’t give up.
i won’t give in.
i’ve done it before,
and for that i’m grateful,
i’m grateful to know i can
i’m grateful to know it’ll work if i do
but i won’t.
i’m grateful to have waited,
for this to be the time that i don’t give up,
because this time,
it’s with you.
