She glowed like a spotlight
illuminating the water,
the lovers, a searcher,
a lantern, full and high,
she hid the words,
distracted the lookers,
marbled, marvelled,
a mistaken omen,
at least, a beautiful one.

So truly inconvenienced
by such a trivial, sour experience
but was it worth it?
Where the days really lost?
It’s debatable, i think,
along her couch,
the snowflakes falling,
tender kisses and tumbles,
drifting through dreams
while philosophers pronounce
love and hope through my headphones
those gentle white cold clouds
parachute to the park outside
the kitchen window, where i had
spent the night philosophizing
quantum physics with wayward bohemians
through their fogging hand-rolled cigarettes,
bitter tea, and sharp wine.
Now, this morning, coffees and vanilla cakes,
hopes, dreams, theory, and fear,
did i really lose to the dance of the old clock face?
Or was i moved, carried by an undercurrent
of friendship and feeling,
perhaps not my first choice,
perhaps i shouldn’t be have a say in choosing.

On this gorgeous Wednesday
there is a horrible black cloud
resting over the Sun,
blackening hearts, my heart,
my friends, my family,
my beautiful unknown strangers,
it veils us from each other,
us from ourselves,
i’m scared for you.
i’m scared for us all.

Curious words
warned of control,
i was so told!
she called,
Be careful is all,
the people that catch
don’t look as you think,
and with those thoughts
i scampered aboard,
how lucky i’ve been,
realization heralds as i
watched forth through windows gleaned
stations, shuddered, whispered,
no problems it seems,
thin in the back corners of mind
her words were tacked
so i looked behind
and so they were
in the train, quite trailing
i scampered the next stop
the woman’s warning prevailed.

Another shooting star,
another wish,
take care, be careful,
be happy, live well,
continue to trade the priceless
for the priceless.
