Most use the
ocean to get
from one
destination
to the other.
i use it
to get away
from them.

Well, shit,
it just gets
bad to worse,
and i’m fucking bored,
it’s not that bad,
i’m sure it’s all
going to work out
nice and fine,
right? Please?

The squeals of sneakers
dance between the
beats of their basketballs,
as i watch youthful
hoop dreams
raise from the benches.

In the middle
of a cactus patch
there is a sign,
for a restaurant
pointing towards
the edge of a cliff
above a warring sea.

i love when nature,
proves my woes wrong,
there’s an island by an island,
where she dazzles with
rainbows and blue shores,
where lightning storms
cast dramas across staggering
mountain peaks, at their base
sit misty mysteries that
help hide the noise,
and expose the light,
around this island,
that i’ve been, that is me,
she reminds me,
oh darling, you have me,
tonight, and every tonight,
for the rest of my life.
